ABOUT
3 Hours of Creative Nature + Math Adventure
Older Girl Scouts dive deeper into the wonder of spirals, symmetry, ratios, and natural design as they uncover the hidden structure behind natureβs most magical patterns. In this hands-on, imaginative workshop, Juniors experiment, design, measure, build, and plant using real-world connections to circles, sequences, and the beauty of Pi β all in a fun, creative, nature-first way.
πΈ Your Junior Girl Scout Will:
π Become a Nature Design Detective
Observe and analyze spirals, symmetry, ratios, and repeating patterns found in flowers, shells, pinecones, seeds, and more.
π¨ Turn Patterns Into Art & Design
Use geometry, circles, and natural symmetry to create stunning, nature-inspired artwork rooted in real mathematical patterns.
π± Engineer a Living Plant Pie
Design, measure, and build a circular mini-garden inspired by spirals, Pi, and natural growth patterns β a magical take-home project that grows throughout spring.
π Explore Pi in the Real World
Measure circles, compare patterns, and experiment with how Pi connects to design in nature (in a Junior-friendly, creative way!).
π Celebrate Early Pi Day!
Enjoy fun, meaningful Pi-inspired challenges woven throughout the workshop, just right for older elementary learners.
This workshop completes all steps of the Junior Math in Nature badge series:
